ARUSHI DAS
Mezzo-Soprano
ABOUT
Arushi Das is a Toronto-based mezzo-soprano in her third year of a Bachelor of Music in voice performance at the University of Toronto, studying under Frédérique Vézina. Recent performances include the role of Idamante in Mozart’s Idomeneo at the Summer Opera Lyric Theatre, and the premiere of Anthony Gunadi’s song “Listen” at the university New Music Festival. This past summer, Das was grateful to further her training as a participant in the Canadian Opera Company Summer Intensive for Young Artists. A passionate choral singer, she has sung with groups such as the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, MacMillan Singers university choir, and Ontario Youth Choir. Her ensemble work has led her to collaborations with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and Andrea Bocelli. Das teaches voice and piano privately, and after her undergraduate degree, hopes to pursue a career as an opera singer and private voice teacher.
